Eye for an Eagle (giclee print)(bw)
"Eye for an Eagle"
By the late Rex A. Begaye
First Feather Gallery presents "Eye For an Eagle (bw)", Native American art by (the late) Navajo artist Rex A. Begaye. Rex described this piece as representing the face of Mother Earth. The Eagle symbolizes protection and healing for the Earth. The warrior standing by the circle speaks of the true meaning of a warrior is to protect the Earth, not to destroy it.
Rex's pointillism pieces were usually done to the beat of the powwow drum while he was in his booth listening and watching the dancing. The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of the earth, each dot is a beat of the drum.
