Wedding Thoughts (giclee print)
By (the late) Rex A. Begaye
Rex created "Wedding thoughts" to represent the Native ceremony when a man and woman join their lives together. The wedding basket is woven for the couple when the marry is surrounding them. The eagle sits behind them for protection and blessings, the comfort pattern surround them, blessing them with Mother Earths gifts.
Rex's pointillism pieces were usually done to the beat of the powwow drum while he was in his booth listening and watching the dancing. The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of the earth, each dot is a beat of the drum.
