Throughout the years as Rex traveled around the country on the powwow circuit, he would sit in his booth and paint. The black and white collection was inspired by a young man on a New York subway. Rex was on the train and noticed him with his notebook, he also thought he was native. He asked him what he was doing and the young man told him he would let the vibration of the train move the pencil then he would put the dots together into an image.
What inspired Rex was the powwow drum. He called the stiple work "doodling".He would sit in his booth and hang to the drumbeat...sketch after sketch. After time and a lot of powwows later the collection grew to now become one of his most unique collections.
